If you are like me in my early 20s, You probably have a wardrobe meltdown once or twice a week. A wide array of clothes and you still feel indecisive on what to wear and how to combine the outfit.
One styling solution that rarely fails is combining colours for outfits. This is a perfect way of switching normal and boring into statement-making and stunning looks
As a beginner, the trick to doing any kind of colour combo that is not monochromatic is to choose your primary colours ( red, blue, and yellow) and then choose colours that complement them.
Neutrals pair well with a range of colours. Pairing a neutral coloured outfit with a bright one increases the vibrancy and attracts people to that particular spot of colour.
I have rounded up five different colour combinations in hopes it excites and enhances your style
1. Brown and Mustard

Brown is one of my favourite go-to colour and this is why it is first on my list. Brown is a polished and elegant colour. If you look into combining brown outfits with the right colour tone and accessories, you will find yourself glued to it. I believe brown goes with a wide variety of bright and warm colours. A perfect example is Mustard which is a calmer shade of yellow that gives a bright touch to your outfit. A mixture of the two colours is relevant for any occasion: for office, dinner, and casual outing.
2. Orange and Pink
This gave you a pause right? Not to worry, Pairing two vibrantly-coloured items might be the spark needed in your wardrobe.

According to the colour wheel’s arrangement devised by Sir Isaac Newton, orange is a secondary colour obtained by combining two primary colours (yellow and red). However, pink is more like light red colour. This means they both have red in common.
Orange is a vibrant and creative colour ranging from the softer shade to burnt orange and other brown-based orange hues.
Orange can be difficult to wear but when paired with a great shade of pink that soothes your skin tone, it gives a hot combination.
3. Turquoise and Cobalt blue

I call this combination “The Regal One” probably because it is refreshing, feminine, and sophisticated. Turquoise is a blue-green colour while cobalt blue is a relaxing and clean shade of blue that is neither warm nor cold making its combination with turquoise a perfect one. Going for a full statement-making look? This is it!
4. Pink and Blue
Blue is one of the most-liked colours. It is quite versatile and bold. The different shades of blue can make it slightly difficult when combined with pink. An easy way to solve this is to stick with a bolder version of each. An example is the Navy and Fuschia combination. Meanwhile, you can add a brighter version of one of the colours. This will make for a more flattering option.

5. Green and Yellow
This combination looks great on most complexions. It gives a refreshing and energetic outlook and generally helps in enhancing your style. Yellow can be worn as a top and you can keep it simple by wearing a warmer tone in moments when you feel indecisive about the colour. You can also wear it as a blazer with a green dress or skirt.

It is important to remember that colour possesses a language without words. Clothes are boring without colour. Add some solid colours to your outfit and you get to see the great transformation!
Beautiful inspo….Thank you
You welcome!
You can’t go wrong in mustard & brown- earthy colours just like nude!
Ahaa! Pink & blue is a No for me. It looks good in the image you have up there but please, don’t give people the liberty to look like an unidentified capsule. Lol. In the image, one of the colours is dominant and the other one was sprinkled here and there. Most people don’t get that!
Yellow & green: Hmm, another disaster in the making. Even the images up there for this category is a NO for me.
The other categories, I love!
Well done Bukunmi👌
Mustard and Brown, Yes I agree. Meanwhile, you are definitely missing out with this two colour combo. The picture seen does not do justice to it. Like I said, you can start with warmer tones if you feel uncomfortable with the colour pairing
Nice one here
Thank you!
Thanks for this information.
Now I know better how to rock colours rather than the usual/basic colour combinations do😁😘
My pleasure darling
Well done Sis! More Grace
You are so kind. Thank you!
Amazing content. I used to be scared of combining colors because I always wondered how it would appear, so most times I stick to neutral colors. Seeing pictorial representations of this combo is soothing and I am definitely going to try them out🤗
Way to go babe! Combining colours is a great hack to a unique wardrobe. Do not sleep on the orange and pink combo(smiles)
