People say “Variety is the spice of life”. This doesn’t only apply to food, it applies to other areas of life. Discovering and trying out different things makes life more interesting, exciting, and enjoyable. 

 Life is about experiences, don’t be afraid to try new things. Busy schedules, lack of funds and ideas, procrastination, hustling and bustling, and challenges in life are setbacks to exploring. 

Looking for some fun and cool things to take the tension off and keep you excited? The best place to start is to Make a bucket list. This list allows you to be spontaneous, limitless, daring, and creative. From time to time, the list serves as a reminder to try the things you have penned down.

Start a Two-Person Book Club

Book clubs are all about reading and exploring new and old books as a group. It is a great opportunity to meet people and make new friends. For introverts, it might not be the best idea. However, starting a two-person book club should work. You can decide on having one with your friend and make it exciting. Remember, no pressure. Have fun in the process. 

Try out some excellent restaurants in town 

Yes, I know this means you have to spend some money. There’s no harm in spending a little on food, catching up with the girls, and relaxing. If you are the type of person who eats the same type of food every day, you might want to try something different. After a long week of work, having a time out with your friends in a restaurant with good food, relaxing music and great ambience is a good deal. 

Swimming

Swimming is an interesting activity and also a good stress reliever. Most people use swimming as a form of meditation. This is not far-fetched because of its benefits to human health. Talking about something you can do as a group, swimming is one. The whole family can go swimming, compete while swimming, enjoy splashing around and enjoy the different ways to swim. You come out of the pool feeling relaxed and on top of the world.

Take Random Pictures of yourself and things around you

Photos are a great way to record little moments and occurrences in life. It plays an important role in a happy life. Take pictures with friends, family, people you might not see again, flowers, and your environment. All this contributes to creating a joyful life. 

Visit Art museums

There are so many eye-catching artworks in the world. Unfortunately, we might not get to see them all. However, art museums are great places to view and understand more about art. The first time I got asked about art was in a speaking test I took early this year. I was able to talk about it because I had visited some art museums in the past. There are so many art museums you can visit for free. A good example is the Nike Art Gallery in Lagos, Nigeria, Tate Modern and The British Museum in London, United Kingdom. Explore and get to understand the origin and history of places and people.

Take up a New Sport

I do not consider myself a great sports person but I like to try out new things. I picked up an interest in cycling and volleyball some years back and felt a sense of fulfillment doing it. It’s also a great topic of discussion, especially with lovers of the sport. Recently, my colleagues invited me to play badminton with them on Tuesdays. Fun right?

Sport keeps you fit and you have a variety of options to choose from. 

Catch a movie at the Cinema

Ever wondered why people like to visit the cinema? Could it be the attractive atmosphere? The joy of watching new movies through a bigger screen? The loud sounds? For me, It’s all these. It could also be the joy of leaving your home and catching a movie with a friend or partner. The key word here is “joy”. 

Consider Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to meet people, network and also give out to the world. There are so many benefits to volunteering coupled with the fact that you get the feeling of being part of a team. New to an environment and hoping to meet new friends, volunteering can help achieve this.

 Have a Picnic

This is a great outdoor event for couples, groups of friends and family. You do not need to break the bank to achieve this. Pack some food and drinks in a picnic bag and go somewhere nice. You can have picnics in an open space surrounded by trees and flowers or close to the beach. 

Plan a day at the park with some games, music and refreshments, it’s that simple.

Start a Two-Person Fitness Program

You can achieve your fitness goal without visiting a gym. Instead of signing up for a gym and being too occupied to attend, You might want to try a two-person fitness program. Get a partner that can be consistent in diet and exercise. With a partner, you can skip, dance, run, visit the gym and hold each other accountable.
