As life involves both highs and lows, there are also the joys of exploring new places, food, and cultures. There’s so much fun in traveling. The new experiences, The tours, The memories, The long walks, The people you meet. All these make it a beautiful experience.

Of course, traveling is no small fit. However, it gets easier with proper planning. If you are interested in traveling or probably still need additional reasons for why you should take that trip, read on to find out how I visited three destinations in one week, things I did right, and things I wish I had done better.

One of the benefits of traveling is that it takes you out of your comfort zone. There were so many considerations when my husband and I decided to take a trip to three destinations in the United Kingdom.

First, we had a budget in mind which included the transportation cost, feeding, and accommodation. The three destinations we came up with were Manchester, York, and Edinburgh.

Train tickets to Manchester were booked online with Avanti’s west coast. For accommodation, we had the option of hotels or Airbnb.

While planning for the trip, we booked an Airbnb in Manchester for two nights which was quite affordable. The Airbnb was beautiful and spacious. It was also close to Manchester Piccadilly and other fun places for sightseeing.

There are a few interesting things to do in greater manchester. One of which is having the Manchester United Old Trafford stadium tour with a fee of £50 per individual, or visiting the Manchester City Stadium also known as the Etihad Stadium. The tour cost £25 per person.

Other activities include taking a walk around Piccadilly Gardens where you get to see different restaurants with great views, stores, and places to relax. The city also has the Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester Cathedral, and many others. The time spent in Manchester City was quite memorable.

The next stop was York. Manchester to York was 90 minutes by train. York, England is a city with Roman origins and cathedrals. The best way to explore york is by foot so tourists can explore the beautiful buildings and places. I had the most fun in York. We booked a room at (Travelodge) a week before the trip. One of the best ways to save money on a trip is to book accommodation and travel tickets ahead.

On our first night, we took a tour of the city, wandering through York minster, one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe, delving into the city’s Viking past, the story of the street called “Shambles” and finally the mesmerizing view of Clifford’s Tower.

York was where I got introduced to the full English breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs, and sausages. I also explored the streets, took some pictures, and had conversations with the locals. Spent a great deal of time at York maze. York maze is a delightful place with several attractions and shows to keep you entertained all day long.

The last two days of the trip were spent in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland with so much history and art attractions. Top attractions include The Scottish National Gallery which is quite free to explore, Camera Obscura and the world of illusions, the National Library, Scotland, and places to watch drama performances. Another remarkable activity is visiting Edinburgh Castle. Tickets to Edinburgh Castle are purchased online. Everything about Edinburgh is exciting, the culture and festivals, the stunning architectural views, and the people.

And there you have it, my one-week travel experience to Manchester, York, and Edinburgh.
